An Artist from the start

I seemed to get asked the same questions when I'm drawing. I love to tell my story and inspire others through art. Every time I draw I leave a little bit of myself in every picture. Drawing is my adventure, it keeps me fulfilled. Here are the most common questions I am asked.

Questions & Answers

Q-Where did you learn how to do this?

A- I learned the art of Caricatures through a company that originated out of Ohio. This company was in many major theme parks across the U.S. They came to my school to recruit for artist's but I also got to job shadow with them through a job study program. I expressed to the company that I really wanted to draw the portraits during the interview but I had more cartoon work in my portfolio. They ended up talking me into Caricatures instead, and I'm glad they did. Classes lasted about 2 weeks and they had many artist stop by to show us how they look at the features on a face, helped us with our marker technique and even gave us home work. After 2 weeks it was up to us. We would get the practice in the park, drawing customers and again practicing at home.

Q- Have you ever worked at Hershey Park?

A- Yes I have, I worked at Hershey Park for a few years but I first learned how to do Caricatures in a theme park called Six Flags Darien Lake - Western N.Y. I had a lot of practice drawing in both parks and both were a very different atmosphere. I'm glad I got the experience from both!

Q- How long have you been drawing?

A- I have been drawing since before I could remember. I have always had a pen in one hand and paper in the other. I took every art class I could while I was in school and always challenged myself. If I didn't get it the first time I always got it the second. Caricatures came into my life when I was 16 in 2002, and I have been drawing them ever since. I have been doing this for over a decade now and it's amazing how my style has changed over the years. I love to entertain people with my art and inspire others to keep art alive!

Q- What a talent, have you always been able to draw?

A- Yea, I have been drawing since before I can remember. I was that little girl with a pencil in one hand and paper in the other. I even found a Bible of my mother's with my drawings in it. It was always about practice though. I remember one summer when I was 7 and I promised myself that I would practice and I was going to be a better drawer. I was very proud of myself because I could see an improvement.
